Bmw E90 Number Plate Lights Not Working

All the lights are working on the car except some in the boot lid section. The near side unit left hand side light and fog light work ok but no reverse light. You can see this on the right hand side of the car it will look like a black rubber concertina d tube.

Bmw e90 number plate lights not working.

Number plate lights not working. Similar for the e46 e39. E90 e60 reverse lights or number plate lights not working. I will be showing you how to change the number plate lights on most bmws most e series cars are the same and i do know the e39 is the same and we will be fit.

They are cheap i got them for 15 usd and a great small mod to. A common problem on lots of generations of bmw models is the phenomenon of cracked wires in the loom. Finally they have arrived and i installed them in under 2 minutes myself. There is a cable harness that runs from the main body to the bootlid.

I waited almost 3 months for these to ship from taiwan. The problem here is most likely a cracked wire going in to the boot lid. Both number plate lights work. On the off side unit no bulbs are working for side reverse or fog.

Each of the rear number plate lights have a separate feed for power believe it or not. Take the bulb back out and clean inside the bulb holder there may be some corrosion or other debris in there.
